Secure Communities Legislation

 

Today, I joined Senator Bruce Tarr (R-Gloucester), Senator Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge), Rep. John Fernandes (D-Milford) and Rep. George Peterson (R-Grafton) to co-sponsor a comprehensive bi-partisan bill that will address nearly all the steps we need to take as a Commonwealth to ensure that taxpayers – not illegal immigrants – benefit from public programs and are as safe as possible from those that are here illegally who seek to do our citizens harm. The provisions in this bill represent commonsense changes we need to make in order to enhance community safety and ensure that our limited state resources are being spent on those who deserve them.
