INTERNSHIPS
The office of Senator Steven A. Baddour offers internships that provide responsibilities and opportunities for able and interested candidates. The internships are designed to create a learning environment for interns, as well as render much needed services for the office. Both full and part-time positions are available year round in the State House office.

Working in conjunction with legislative assistants, interns in Senator Steven A. Baddour's office gain hands-on experience dealing with current issues on Beacon Hill. A large part of an intern's time is spent working on projects that are related to his or her interests. Assignments often consist of long-term and short-term policy research. In addition, interns are called upon to help with administrative functions and duties, such as running errands, assisting with bulk mailings, and answering phones.

The goal of Senator Steven A. Baddour's internships are threefold:

1) To allow interns to put into practice theories learned in school
2) To provide an understanding of the inner workings of state government
3) To encourage interns to produce substantive policy work in an office environment

This provides a learning experience for interns, as they begin to develop a knowledge of the legislative process. At the same time, having knowledgeable interns ensures that constituents contacting the office will be dealt with in an educated and thoughtful manner.

Although most interns spend only one semester with the office, they often are welcomed to stay longer and continue their learning experience.

Interested candidates should contact the Intern Coordinator in the Senator Steven A. Baddour’s State House office at 617-722-1604 for more information.
